Museum Teaching

Rachel is a Museum Educational Consultant for Affective and Physical Engagement with Art at The Getty Museum. She co-created a new tour “Sense Memory in Art” with Elliot Kai Kee. She interacts with museum visitors from all over the world to explore the way memory and the senses engage simultaneously to create deeper, more provocative, and personal relationships with works of art.

Inspired by her work as a faculty member at The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, Rachel has created a curriculum to train museum docents at both The Getty Center and Getty Villa on how to utilize Sense Memory and Emotional Memory when looking at art.

Rachel created unique improvisational exercises using paintings from the gallery collection. She also trains docents in voice & diction. Rachel has taught UCLA students in collaboration with the Getty Education Department.
